The Best Affiliate Marketing Tools of 2018

April 13, 2018 Posted by Dev Guides, Tips 8 Comments

Being successful in affiliate marketing requires many things. First and foremost you need to have a strong set of tools and resources at your disposal. Having been in the industry for the better part of a decade I have tried countless tools and programs (both free and paid). Some have been great, some were downright ripoffs. To help set you up for success and get you off on the right foot, I have compiled this list of the best affiliate marketing tools and resources of 2018.

The Best Affiliate Marketing Tools of 2018

Domain & Hosting

best affiliate marketing tools: hostingIf you want to get into affiliate marketing, you need a website. This is one of the few resources you cannot overlook s you really have no way to promote and be successful if you don’t have a place to put your content.

My #1 recommended tool, especially for folks starting out on a budget like most of us do is SiteRubix. SiteRubix allows you to build and host a website, absolutely free. Your site will be a “yoursite.siterubix.com” domain, but it is free.

Down the road, should you decide to buy your own domain you can always migrate your SiteRubix website over to the new premium domain.

Give SiteRubix a try for free:

Keyword and Market Research

It would be very difficult to optimize your new website if you didn’t have a reliable way to research the keywords your audience searches for. You can use tools like the Google Keyword tool or professional resources such as SEMRush. However I find the former to be rather unreliable and the ladder to be far too expensive for the features it offers.

Don’t get me wrong, SEMRush has its place in the market and is a strong tool. However if you are just getting started in affiliate marketing, or even if you’re fairly well established, SEMRush does not offer what you are looking for.

best affiliate marketing tools: keyword research

The top keyword research tool I recommend to everyone is Jaaxy. Jaaxy allows you to

  • Research keyword search volume
  • Estimate monthly traffic if you rank well for a given keyword
  • Find affiliate programs by keyword and affiliate program database
  • Search domain availability
  • and much, much more

Jaaxy has a full suite of tools catered specifically for affiliate marketing success. What’s even better is how cheap Jaaxy is. It is by far one of the most affordable and quality keyword research tools available.

See for yourself, go ahead and type in a keyword to get a feel for how Jaaxy works:

Website Engagement

Nobody likes have a deserted website. Having engaging content and engaged readers is very important for the overall success of your website. While it isn’t a key ranking factor, Google does look at how much people engage with and share your content.

With this in mind who wouldn’t want to have a system for generating quality comments on their content and sparking the conversation amongst your readers?

Site Comments is just one of the many features that Wealthy Affiliate University offers its members. This system works in a true give and take fashion where you earn credits for giving other members comments and can “buy” comments with those credits.

You can also reject comments you don’t like and that person won’t get a credit. This was you can be sure you are getting high quality, engaging comments and not just spammy crap littered on the post you worked hard on crafting.

Finally, when ordering website comments you can set the frequency. For example if you want your comments spread out over a week or two, do that. If you’d rather get them rapid fire, say you want them all at once and you’ll get all of your ordered comments ASAP.

Supportive Community & Mentorship

best affiliate marketing tools: mentorship

I think one of the most important affiliate marketing tools next to a domain and quality web hosting is a knowledgeable support community at your back. Getting started in affiliate marketing can be overwhelming. If you don’t have experience in internet marketing (SEO, PPC, etc) that overwhelmed feeling can multiply quickly.

Having a network of people behind you to help you along the way and answer your questions as you learn the ropes or polish your skills is invaluable.

What’s better than having a strong network as your support system? Having a personal mentor in addition to that network.

How does 1 on 1 coaching and assistance as you learn your way through affiliate marketing success sound?

I’m willing to offer you that mentorship, and so are hundreds of other successful affiliate marketers.

Conclusion + Bonus

There are literally thousands of tools and resources available “designed for affiliate marketing” and I’ve tried so many of them it hurts to think about (I know my wallet winces at the memory). I can assure you that the above products that I’ve listed are some of the best affiliate marketing tools available in 2018. I use each and every one of them on a daily basis for my affiliate marketing work.

Hi, Dev. I just finished reading your post and I like what you’ve written. I started out with a siterubix site but later bought my own domain. They’re pretty inexpensive. I don’t have any experience with keyword tools other than Jaaxy. It fits the bill for everything that I want to do with my online business. Thanks for the good information. It’ll be useful in the future.

        Hi Grant,

I absolutely agree, I think Siterubix is great because it allows people who are hesitant about the idea to get their feet wet for free. Spending money on a domain can feel a little permanent for something you aren’t totally sold on yet. Also Jaaxy is definitely a powerhouse for affiliate marketing research. I’ve used a lot of keyword research tools and Jaaxy is the clear leader among them. Thanks for the comment

Being a member of wealthy as well, I can say there tools are quite amazing — and best of all is you don’t have to pay any extra to use them.

How may programs have you joined, only to be unsold programs and tools you “need” in order to be successful?

I guessing too many to count.

So along with their tools, training, and supportive community — I’d say you can’t a better option around.

        Hi Michael,

I agree, the tools wealthy affiliate offers are incredible and for the price unbeatable. I definitely don’t want to start talking about the amount of programs I’ve joined only to find out I was oversold and essentially ripped off. That is honestly part of why I created this site. I was so desperate to find what worked when I was trying to earn cash in college that I tried everything – and wasted a lot of money and time that could’ve been spent building a strong online business.

      Dev,
Thanks for the article, you have shared a lot of good advise. I agree that Wealthy Affiliate is a good platform, especially for the person who is new to affiliate marketing, but I was wondering is you had considered any other platforms before joining wealthy affiliate? If so, what made you choose to go with wealthy affiliate?
      Thanks David

        Hi David,

I actually tried quite a few programs prior to Wealthy Affiliate. In fact I first got started working to make money on Fiverr, however I found that the return wasn’t what I was hoping for. I was looking to build a career through online income and Fiverr didn’t seem like the long term solution. I then tried a handful of other products, a few of which don’t even exist anymore, before landing upon Wealthy Affiliate. I think the Certification Course is what initially made me stick around as it provided a tried and true blueprint for success in making money online. There are so many reasons I stayed but that course was the first. Thanks for the comment!

I love the way you weaved Siterubix AND Jaaxy into your post. Having the right tools is so important to succeed in Affiliate Marketing. I know I would be lost without my tools. Are there any other tools you can think of that would help marketers to do better? If so, what are they and what are they about?

        Hi Eden,

Honestly as far as tools are concerned everything I get from my Wealthy Affiliate membership covers all the bases. However, I would definitely suggest learning as much as you can about SEO outside of WA. WA will teach you the fundamentals of SEO but there is so much more to learn and hone in online marketing that will help you be succesful in affiliate marketing. My 2 favorite websites are moz.com and searchengineland.com. These 2 sites are incredible for keeping up to date in all things SEO and online marketing in general. Thanks for the comment!
